Position Title: Heavy Duty Diesel Technician Position Description: We are looking for driven candidates with good attention to detail, and the desire to be in the physically demanding position of diesel technician. The primary duties of a diesel tech include performing diagnostic tests on 16 heavy-duty diesel trucks and 50 refrigerated trailers. This position must be able to find faults, analyze diagnostic test results, and repair or replace engine, steering, transmission, braking, or lighting system components, with and without any assistance if needed. Our diesel techs need to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as part of a team dedicated to a service-first mentality. They will be expected to enter detailed information into a dedicated technician software via an assigned tablet of serviced vehicles and interact with fellow team members and customers. Duties/Responsibilities • Running diagnostic tests on vehicles. • Analyzing diagnostic test results. • Replacing & repairing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, tires, and braking systems. • Checking vehicle lighting systems. • Test driving vehicles to gauge performance. • Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks & trailers • Enter detailed technician notes into provided technician tablet. • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist. • Ensuring the cleanliness of your work area & equipment. • Performing various heavy duty, light duty repairs, on both heavy-duty & light duty equipment • Service, repair, and maintain refrigeration units • After treatment diagnosis • Know, and exemplify our core values & vision Skills/ Abilities • Basic to intermediate use of technology • Ability to work in various weather conditions • Ability to operate hand truck, pallet jack, and fork truck • Ability to perform manual labor such as moving parts and equipment • Ability to lift 100lbs & be on feet for most of the day • Work independently following company policies and procedures Experience/Requirements • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred • CDL- A or B, preferred but not required • 3 years of heavy-duty repair experience required • Knowledge of the fleet maintenance required • Heavy Duty Inspection License preferred but not required • ASE Diesel Certification(s) advantageous. • Previous OEM or Accredited Training advantageous • Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components. • Good interpersonal skills. • Excellent verbal communication skills. • Good organization skills. • Must have own tools Benefits • Medical & Vision Insurance • Dental, Supplemental, & Life Insurance • 401K Retirement Plan • Annual Boot & Prescription Work Glasses Reimbursement • Paid Training Opportunities • Advancement through Certification Completion • Weekly Tool Truck Stops (Mac & Snap-On) • Modern & Constantly Evolving Shop • Family Friendly Work Culture Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
