United Cerebral Palsy of SLO County is looking for a part-time supervisor to manage agricultural program at a local farm on Laureate Lane in San Luis Obispo. 15 hours a week with flexible hours and an occasional Saturday morning for a Farmer’s Market.
The Ranch location is a training site for adults with developmental disabilities, but this position is focused on raising flowers and vegetables, caring for chickens, coordinate watering, and identifying projects for the workers to do to maintain the operations. Flowers, vegetables, eggs and other produce are sold to restaurants and at our Farmer’s Markets.
Requirements:
• Good Communication Skills
• Knowledge of horticultural and gardening practices
• Basic knowledge of water conservation
• Good planning skills
• Ability to work on your own
Manager’s Duties:
• monitor plants in the greenhouse and ground for watering and weeding
• identify tasks at the Ranch for the workers to do when they come to work at the site
• Communicate with the workers’ job coach about jobs to be done and monitor their progress
