Reports to: Store Manager
Job Summary: This position includes assisting the managers in overseeing all the store functions and employees at their location. Assist manager on shipping and receiving. Has good communication with customers and fellow employees. Will oversee paint department which includes the mixing of all interior and exterior products. Responsible for tasks assigned by store manager.
Summary of essential job functions:
• Answers phones and customers question in a well-informed manner.
• Keep a good dialogue with the customers and reports all questions, complaints and concerns to store manager.
• Assist the manager overseeing loaders and other employees.
• Types in customers’ orders and places stock orders.
• Assist manager in handling invoicing and daily books following Murphy procedures.
• Accountable for Inventory at the end of each month.
• Keep inventory at proper level and report any slow moving items or any customer’s special requests.
• Assist manager scheduling store orders and deliveries.
• Keep store, bathrooms and grounds clean and orderly.
• Notify director of sales if customers stop buying or if competitors’ products are seen.
• Use the salesman call report to find potential customers.
• Performs accurate inventory counts at the end of the month.
Minimum Requirements: Should have a high school education.
Must have reliable transportation. Preferred back ground related experience with managerial and/or drywall responsibilities. Must watch related safety films and fill out accompanying text and paperwork. Must take fork lift certification exam and pass.
Abilities Required: Will require standing, walking and lifting throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder height and below the waist as required. Assisting customers or performing office duties. Proper lifting techniques required. Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
