I don't think so. Vlad did not get to where he is at because he was dim-witted. He is a sly fox. The Ukraine has been a thorn in his side, kind of the United States way of putting a thumb in his eye. Same with Taiwan. We don't really care about either country. They cost us much capital and yield no return. None except psychological. Kind of like a communist island to our south. Here are my unprofessional predictions. Take them and $2. and you can get a cup of coffee at McDonalds. Putin will break the will of the pesky Ukrainians, take over the country at an enormous cost to struggling Russia. He will have it as a protectorate, but it will hardly end them being a constant irritant. The western nations will sanction the hell out of him, which will indeed hurt the good Russian people, and the good citizens of those countries as well. The Democrats who felt the same about Trump as you do about Putin will be dismayed as he rises (once more) from the ashes, is re-elected in 2024, the House and Senate fall to extremist Trump followers, all the sanctions against Russia are removed, and Trump finally gets his Moscow Trump Hotel to leave as his legacy to his grandchildren, who will of course be politicians themselves. The end.
