Larson Construction Company (LCCI) is a family owned, heavy highway contractor based in the Chippewa Falls area that builds bridges and other structures for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and other clients. Our shop staff is a small, close knit team that works together to support our field operations. We are actively looking to add at least one more person to that team to accommodate an increase in growth. In this year round position, you would work with others to: • Pack and unpack crates of construction materials • Load and unload Semi-Trailers of construction materials and equipment • Perform general labor work, indoors and out (90% outdoors in the summer, 40% outdoors in winter) • Engage in light carpentry work, building and repairing forms • Assist in shop maintenance, cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and other duties as needed The successful candidate will possess the following traits/skills: • A positive, cooperative attitude that works well with others • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from the workplace • A strong work ethic • Dependably arrive to work on time, at early hours (Typically 5am or earlier in the summer) • Have a mechanic background or some mechanical sense about them • Experience working around large, heavy equipment or farm equipment • Physically fit, and able to lift irregularly shaped items up to 75 lbs • Ability to run a telehandler and/or forklift safely • A willingness to learn new things A Superior candidate would have these additional qualities/experiences: • Experience in welding and/or fabrication • Hold a valid Wisconsin CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) • Experience pulling a trailer behind a pickup truck We do NOT offer health insurance benefits of any kind.
