Concert: Alternating Currents Live—The Bridge #2.4
This project seeks to embrace asymmetry, in which any apparent instrumental imbalance will reveal more fragile and adventurous balances. These five unfettered spirits, who have never played together before, will gather under one imperative: an immediate readiness to explore a musical territory where everything is possible. From Chicago, we welcome renowned poet and visual artist Damon Locks along up-and-coming violinist and vocalist Macie Stewart. And from the new generation of French musicians, we present Morgane Carnet, a flamboyant saxophonist; Fanny Lasfargues, an atypical and irreverent bassist; and Jozef Dumoulin, a keyboard player of purity and density. This concert promises the art of improvisation unfolding in its most surprising sense to reveal fantastic new territories.
