Walk along with a naturalist to learn about three different types of mangroves found on the refuge and the wildlife that lives among them.
*All tours are led outside, but if 6 feet cannot be maintained while the tour is conducted, masks are required by all participants. By signing up for this tour, you are adhering to wearing a mask while on the tour.
*Tours will not be conducted if guidelines are not met by all participants and the guide has the right to terminate the tour if deemed unsafe.
Grab your hat and water bottle and join a naturalist on a casual stroll down the Indigo Trail. Hear a brief history of the refuge and how to identify red, black, and white mangroves.
While on the tour we will look for signs of wildlife and discover who calls the mangrove ecosystem their home.
This program is scheduled for 1 hour and will cover 6/10ths of a mile of boardwalk and crushed shell trail. Meet at the flagpole in front of the Visitor and Education Center to begin your adventure. Arrive before 9:20am for check-in and to confirm your attendance. If not confirmed by 9:20am, your spot will be given away. This tour is limited to 10 individuals.
