Held during National Poetry Month as part of Hay Memorial Library’s Great Lakes Poetry Series. Held during National Poetry Month as part of Hay Memorial Library’s Great Lakes Poetry Series, "Meaning, Sound, & Rhythm" is a one-day arts program to promote and encourage creative writing and artistic expression. The program is open to the public, ages 16 and up, with a registration donation of $5.00. The fee covers all workshop materials and registration. Event Location: Sackets Harbor Ballroom, West Main St., Sackets Harbor, NY Hours: Saturday, April 23, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Schedule: 1:00 to 2:00 Reading & Discussion with Philip Memmer 2:00 to 4:00 Writer’s Workshop led by feature poet, Phil Memmer Write your own poetry and verse from prompts provided to spark inspiration. In this workshop writers will explore use of sound and rhythm, and have the opportunity to read their work. 4:00 to 5:00 Poetry Slam with Refreshments, Book Signing/Sales *Registration for the workshop is limited to 25* ABOUT OUR FEATURE POET Award-winning poet, editor and teacher, Philip Memmer is the Director of the Arts Program at the Syracuse YMCA.
