Join us at Matcha Thomas, Sunday, March 6th, for an intimate Japanese tea ceremony!  Tea scholar Eric K. Carr will be performing chabako, a beautiful and authentic version of chanoyu, the Japanese Tea Ceremony.  This is a rarely-seen version of the ceremony, and participants will receive very high-quality ceremony-grade matcha and traditional Japanese tea sweets, all served traditionally in chawan, the ceremonial tea bowl, which guests will get to take home after the ceremony! Eric K. Carr is an award-winning artist, poet, and licensed tea practitioner, having studied tea ceremony through the Urasenke Foundation in Japan and the National Tea Culture Institute in China.  As a former minister and cofounder of the Taproot Alliance, Eric is an expert in both modern and ancient ritual.  He and his husband live in Tucson, AZ, in a historic church that they have converted into a house and tea sanctuary.
