After the Salon enjoy a wine tasting sponsored by South LA Wine Club and featuring Kita Wines. Bios LaSandra “San” Dixon was born in LA but grew up in Azusa, Ca. She was always a sports-minded kid, but developed a passion for basketball. She earned a full scholarship to San Diego State University in 2005 and graduated with her Bachelors in Liberal Arts in 2009. LaSandra became known as Coach San throughout Los Angeles, which also serves as home of Defend Your Legacy Basketball. Coach San has always been deeply rooted in giving back to her community and uses basketball as a tool to inspire, motivate, and develop players one bounce at a time. She is the founder and head trainer of Defend Your Legacy Basketball (DYLBBALL). By the summer of 2014, San started working with Nike Los Angeles, where she has served as the lead female trainer for the Jr. Drew League and Kobe Bryant's Mamba League. By 2016, she was the Jr. Sparks Clinic Director and Youth Basketball Summer Camp Director where she helped increase girls participation from 300 to 1,400 participants by 2019. San continues her partnership with Nike Los Angeles as a Change Maker and Sport Impact Leader. Kelli Jackson, is the second generation owner of Hank’s Mini Market located in the Hyde Park community of South Central Los Angeles. This family-owned curated market is honored this year to celebrate their 25th Anniversary serving their community. In 2018, Kelli helped facilitate a large brick and mortar transformation project at Hank’s Mini Market. This project reinvigorated this classic corner store that now brings access to art, healthy food options, and safe spaces. Due to the expansion and Hank’s Mini Market’s commitment to their community they have received several awards including, 2019 Small Business of the Year for District 30 by their California State Senator. Lisa J. Baxter is a community builder, equity activist, heart speaker and thought leader. Her favorite Nelson Mandela quote is her philosophy on life, “I never lose. I either win or learn.” She has been a fundraising practitioner for 15 years and has successfully raised over $100M for local, regional and national nonprofit organizations and has led and mentored high preforming teams. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Greater Los Angeles (AFP-GLAC) and is the 2022 President-Elect. When she is not immersing herself in social justice and community related issues, she is a contributing writer for Suite Life So Cal Concierge Magazine, an avid reader, music lover and marathon dancer with a penchant for fashion and inclusive stationary products. She is a proud Afro-Latina and mama of a very cool 7-year-old.Lisa earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
