Introductory meeting to discuss the Thomasville/Thomas County community undertaking an exciting comprehensive needs assessment project The Thomasville/Thomas County community is undertaking an exciting comprehensive needs assessment project in 2022 called The Workforce Plan, and you are invited to the introductory meeting. This project will bring together multisector leaders and stakeholders like yourself from across Thomas County to determine strengths, challenges, assets, and gaps in the workforce pipeline. Building off the work Thomas County Family Connections has done assessing the children and families of the county, the Workforce Plan will include K-12, post-secondary, industry, and economic development perspectives to assess the entire birth-to-work pipeline. In a fast-changing environment deeply impacted by the COVID crisis as well as regional and national economic trends, the Workforce Plan will form a current snapshot of Thomas County’s economic, educational, and community needs, and bring together stakeholders from across the community to identify aligned strategies to address those needs, build on strengths, and support the community. This work will be led by the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational policy organization with 30 years of experience supporting Georgia’s education and workforce development, with support from Imagine Thomasville, Thomas County Family Connections, and the Thomasville Community Resource Center.
