HAUPPAUGE, NY – A medical group with facilities across Long Island and Queens has joined forces with a New Jersey-based network that includes CityMD Urgent Care.
Medical Associates, at 200 Motor Pkwy., was acquired by Summit Health in Berkeley Heights, the Garden State-based network announced Tuesday.
Medical Associates has more than 20 primary care and specialty physicians with facilities in Hauppauge, Patchogue, Mt. Sinai, Selden, Huntington, Massapequa, Levittown and Bayside, Queens.As part of the acquisition, Dr. Rajesh Raina, who founded Medical Associates, will retire, Summit Health said.
"They [Medical Associates] bring with them a wide range of multispecialty and primary care services including allergy testing, annual physicals, cardiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, endocrinology and more,"
Dr. Dan Frogel, Summit Health's chief medical officer for the New York region, said in a statement. "Together we can offer patients our commitment to a simplified health care experience that's intuitive, comprehensive, and responsive."
Summit Health was formed in 2019 from a merger between Summit Medical Group and CityMD, a leading urgent care provider in the greater New York City area including Long Island. Summit Health has more than 2,500 providers, 12,000 employees at more than 340 locations in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Oregon.
