Description
2022 Spring Planners' Forum This Spring, our Chester County Planners’ Forum will be a hybrid event, held both virtually via Zoom and in-person at the West Goshen Township building from 8 am to 10 am on Thursday, March 31. We’ll be hearing three excellent presentations that touch on a number of current issues, including climate change, equity, affordable housing, and local economic growth. Here are the speakers for March 31: • Jon Lesher and Ellis Foley, environmental planners with Montgomery County, will describe the county’s Climate Change Potential Vulnerability Analysis and how it addresses equity. • Spencer Gober, an economic development planner with DVRPC, will provide an overview of Cultivating a Homegrown Economy, which shows how municipalities can leverage consumer demand for local products to grow more resilient and sustainable local economies. • Thomas Dougherty, a West Chester architect, will discuss the potential transformation of alleys with accessory dwelling units and improved infrastructure. The first half hour of the event, from 8 am to 8:30 am, will be networking time, where people joining the meeting virtually via Zoom will be put into breakout rooms to chat with other planners, while the planners at the West Goshen Township building will be able to network in person. After the presentations conclude at 9:30, there will be an opportunity to stay on the call or in person to connect with anyone else who is participating. The Planners’ Forum provides a great opportunity to hear about current planning issues, share ideas with your fellow planners, and catch up with old friends. Please note that CDC guidelines for in-person events will be followed. Masks are required to enter the West Goshen Township building.
