MILWAUKEE, WI — Fans may now choose whether or not to wear a mask at Milwaukee's Fiserv Forum, according to policy now listed on the venue's website. In December of 2021, as the COVID-19 omicron variant was surging in parts of the country, the home of the Milwaukee Bucks had mandated masks for all attendees to Bucks and Marquette University games, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel had first reported. But after new guidance came down from the CDC this week that says masks indoors are no longer recommended in many parts of the country, Fiserv Forum appears to have updated its policy as well. The CDC does say people with symptoms, a positive test or those who have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, should wear a mask. "Fiserv Forum will follow CDC guidelines in Milwaukee County which state that if you are at high risk for severe illness you should talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask," the Fiserv Forum website said. "Otherwise, fans can choose whether to wear a mask in Fiserv Forum," the venue's website says. "We will continue to follow CDC guidelines based on COVID-19 community levels and adjust our policies as recommended." Much of Wisconsin has received new COVID-19 spread risk rankings from the CDC. Parts of Wisconsin are listed at low, while other counties remain at higher risk of spread, according to the CDC. Check the latest CDC ranking here.
