MILFORD, MA — The community group Citizens for Milford will host two candidate forums in March focused on competitive races ahead of the 2022 spring election. There are three races that are competitive in 2022: Milford School Committee, the Planning Board and the Parks Commission. The latter two races will be spotlighted in a forum on March 22, and the school races will have a separate forum on March 23. Residents can attend each forum in-person at Town Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m. Voters will also get the chance to meet the candidates before each forum. The format for the forums will feature two-minute opening statements from each candidate, plus a challenge round where candidates will get to ask each other questions. The audience will also get to ask questions. Voters can also send questions by emailing [email protected] or messaging the group through its Facebook page. This is the first spring election with an in-person component since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out two years ago. The town recently lifted a mask mandate for municipal buildings. "Citizens for Milford is delighted to have the opportunity to invite voters to Town Hall to meet the candidates and get answers to their own questions regarding issues confronting the community. We are looking forward to hosting two informative evenings," Citizens for Milford Chair Gerri Eddins said in a news release. Both forums, which each begin at 7 p.m., will air on Milford TV (Comcast channel 8, Verizon channel 38),Verizon channel HD 2140, MilfordTV.net and the Milford TV app.
