WISCONSIN — A GoFundMe page was launched Sunday to support the family of Scott Anderson, a Patch photojournalist who died, leaving behind his wife and two children. The contributions will go to a college fund for his children. "Now that Scott is no longer with us, we are asking for your help in supporting his young children in realizing their dreams by contributing to their college funds," organizer Rob Golub said in the fundraiser page. The fundraiser's goal is set at $3,000, and $1,238 had been raised as of publication. All donations go to the Anderson family and EdVest accounts for both children. Anderson died Feb. 21, succumbing to depression and anxiety, his family said. He worked as a journalist at the Journal Times in Racine before finding Patch. "Scott always taught us to see the beauty in small moments," Golub said. "Every contribution is a moment, a beautiful testament to the love we hold for the Andersons and our support for their children's future." Anderson is survived by his wife Janine and his children Henry and Hazel. » Support the GoFundMe "Scott was one of my closest friends at Patch," Minnesota editor William Bornhoft said. Bornhoft and Anderson both started in 2016, and he said that Anderson's "heaps of support and guidance" kept him at the company. Anderson also forged a friendship with Alabama editor Michael Seale, who said that forming relationships in the online workplace is hard to do. Seale said Anderson's daughter read to his daughter over Zoom when the pandemic hit. "Scott was an amazing person, and one of the most helpful and gracious co-workers I've ever had," Seale said. GoFundMe is a Patch promotional partner.
