Framingham State University President Cevallos Heading To Harvard

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham State President F. Javier Cevallos is graduating to Harvard University. Cevallos, who is set to step down from his Framingham State role by August, will join the Cambridge university's Graduate School of Education as a president-in-residence for the 2022-23 school year. Cevallos' role at Harvard will include instructing students who are headed toward a career in higher education leadership. "[Cevallos and Martin] are incredibly thoughtful and approachable — they'll connect authentically with students to help them think about what impactful leadership looks like," Harvard lecturer Alexis Redding said in a news release. Cevallos took over as Framingham State president in 2014. Framingham State's board of trustees has selected Nancy Niemi, the provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), to take over as the school's eighth president. Cevallos will serve as a Harvard president-in-residence beginning in the next school year along with Amherst College President Biddy Martin.
