ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine said he plans to step down from his role. Chapdelaine has informed the Select Board of his decision and will draft a public statement to be released at the Board's meeting on Monday. "Until then I'll say that after a great deal of consideration, I've decided to pursue an opportunity to rest, recharge and refocus while deciding what's next for me professionally," Chapdelaine wrote in an email. "More broadly, I'd say that I came to the conclusion that I needed to close one door before opening another." Chapdelaine was selected as Natick's town administrator last June, but withdrew from negotiations with the town. In December, a Herald News report floated Chapdelaine as a possible candidate for the open city administrator role in Fall River, a job he previously held before coming to Arlington. Chapdelaine shot that report down, saying at the time he was "committed to Arlington."
