Here are the top three stories in Irving today: The City of Irving shared some data from its handling of February's winter storms from the 2nd to the 4th. During this time, the City had partially activated an Emergency Operations Center to respond to resident issues across Irving. According to the City, crews worked around the clock to respond to 165 emergency response calls for wellness checks, downed power lines, stuck vehicles, flooding, and more. Irving also addressed broken water pipes, medical emergencies, sanding streets, power outages, and vehicular accidents. (Irving Weekly)On Wednesday, Texas Tech freshman Vashaun Vascianna was named the Big 12's Male Most Outstanding Freshman. He is the fourth Red Raider to win this honor and the first to win since 2018. Jamaica native Vascianna claimed first place in this season's NCAA track and field finals with a time of 7.70. (Texas Tech)The City of Irving has implemented a "Report a Concern" pilot program, and officials want you to test the system and share your thoughts. Through the program, Irving residents can submit non-emergency concerns like loose animals, water leaks, and potholes, which are then routed to the appropriate department for resolution.
