Happy Thursday, neighbors! Here's what's going on in town today. Thursday's weather: Mostly sunny and warm. High: 71 Low: 43. Here are the top stories in Denver today: The writing is on the wall for Denver's oldest neighborhood. Curtis Park was settled in the 1870s, and it's where Denver's first streetcar once ran. It's long been called Denver's oldest neighborhood, named for pioneer Samuel S. Curtis, the man who is said to have laid out the streets of Denver. Will Denver's commercial boom change the neighborhood into something entirely unrecognizable? (Westword)Lakewood's 40 West Arts District scores yet another arts group. The Chicano Arts Center has gotten priced out of Denver and announced this week that they are moving to Lakewood. CHAC helped make the Santa Fe Art District into a destination, but rising rents forced them to look elsewhere, and they found a new home in the 40 West Arts District. CHAC will be moving into the space currently occupied by 40 West Art Gallery on Teller Street, as the 40 West gallery is set to move into a newly renovated space on Colfax. (Denverite) 119 low-income housing units planned near DIA. A $24.5 million FHA loan was approved to build 119 multi-family units near Denver International Airport. Wildhorse Ridge will provide homes for families making 30- 70 percent of the Area Median Income. Colorado's Division of Housing will also be chipping in money toward the project. (FOX31) Broken pipe at DIA flooded new B Gate expansion in December. The flooding, in the yet-to-be-opened B Gate expansion, damaged communications equipment, bathrooms, electronics, drywall, paint, carpet and floors, utilities and insulation. The lingering question is why did it take airport officials almost three months to disclose the damage to the public? Estimates to fix the water damage is around $50 million. (CBS4) Denver area food halls are going virtual. First it was the ghost kitchen, now the Front Range is a hotbed for virtual food halls. Scratch Kitchen is not a single restaurant; it's a food hall with six restaurant concepts. (5280) Environmental News: Robust orphan well funding mechanism created. Colorado oil and gas regulators are overhauling the rules in hopes of making sure there's money to clean up orphan wells that have been left behind by drillers. Environmental groups say the new rules are too complicated. (CO Sun) From our sponsor: Hey Denver, are you looking to buy a house, refinance or just explore your options?
