Press release from the City of Colorado Springs: 2022-03-02 Mountain Metropolitan Transit will conduct public meetings digitally for proposed service changes for spring 2022. An online video and survey are available to inform the public of the proposed service changes and to obtain public input prior to a final decision. Public comments can also be submitted by phone to 719-385-7433, faxed to 719-385-5419, or sent using the City's GoCOS app. Comments will be accepted through March 10, 2022. In accordance with the ADA, anyone requiring an auxiliary aid to participate in these meetings should make the request no later than March 8, 2022.  Citizens who are deaf may also use 711 to arrange for an accommodation. Restructure Route 23 (Barnes Rd - Tutt Blvd): Split Route 23 into two routes; new proposed Route 23 to operate from Morning Sun Avenue to Tutt Boulevard and Constitution Avenue; improve frequency to 30-minutes and operate new battery electric buses on new Route 23; proposed Route 24 will operate from South Carefree Circle and Tutt Boulevard to the Citadel Mall Transfer Center. Proposed Implementation: 4/24/2022 Operate Regular Service on Holidays: Instead of operating Sunday service on Memorial, Independence, and Labor Days, this proposal includes operating weekday service on Memorial and Labor Days. Since Independence Day is on a different day every year, MMT is proposing to operate the level of service appropriate for the day on which the holiday falls. Proposed Implementation: 4/24/2022 Mountain Metropolitan Transit provides local fixed-route bus service and Metro Mobility ADA paratransit service for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. All buses are wheelchair-lift equipped. Mountain Metropolitan Transit also provides other services such as Metro Rides' ridesharing, vanpool, and bicycling programs. For added convenience, bike racks are available on all buses for riders who want to utilize the bike-n-bus program.
