Press release from the City of Portland: March 2, 2022 The Council also voted unanimously to approve the appointment of Kari L. Twaite as a new Associate Corporation Counsel. Ms. Twaite will work for the City's Office of Corporation Counsel assisting primarily with land use and regulatory legal matters. Since 2015, Ms. Twaite has worked for the U.S. Department of Energy as an attorney working on a variety of environmental and energy matters. She holds active bar memberships with Maine, Massachusetts, and Washington, D.C. Ms. Twaite earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College, a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University, and her law degree from Vermont Law School. Ms. Twaite is eager to return to Maine. Her appointment is effective on March 14, and her annual salary will be $106,671. The City Council's next meeting will be held on Monday, March 7 at 5:00 PM.
