Coronavirus Exposure Case Doesn't Close Deerfield Library

DEERFIELD, IL — A known exposure of the coronavirus isn't closing the Deerfield Public Library at this time. The library was notified of the exposure, which occurred between Sept. 9-11, Tuesday. "Based on the recommendations of the Illinois Department of Public Health, we were not required to close, and notification of this low risk exposure to staff and the public was recommended," the library said in a statement. "We have been informed that the person is now in isolation. Federal privacy laws prohibit releasing any additional information about the positive case." The library performed a sanitization service before the building opened to the public Wednesday. Officials are continuing to follow the recommendations of local health authorities.
