FREEHOLD, NJ — After a hiatus in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID pandemic, the Freehold Borough Arts Council is returning with the 10th St. Patrick's Day Parade later this month. Marchers will gather at McLean Street at noon on March 13, and the parade will begin at 1 p.m., passing the Monmouth County Hall of Records and the reviewing stand on East Main Street before proceeding to Bennett Street. The parade will also include performances by traditional Irish Pipe and Drum bands and local high school bands, said Jeff Friedman of the Freehold Borough Arts Council. The special honoree for 2022 is Lori-Anne McLane, president and CEO of the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, as grand marshal. Following the parade, at 2:30 p.m., the Elks Lodge and the Colombian Club will host afterparties at their respective locations. The Eddie Testa Band will perform at the Elks Lodge, according to the parade's Facebook page.
