Teen Driver Crashes Car Into House In Petaluma, Police Say

PETALUMA, CA — A teenager who crashed a car into a house Wednesday in Petaluma is facing a least one citation, according to police. The crash was reported at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of St. Francis Drive and St. Joseph Way, Petaluma police Lt. Tim Lyons said. "Officers arrived on scene and found a Mazda 3 on the lawn of the house," Lyons said. "The driver was determined to be 17 years old and did not have a driver's license." Witnesses told police the driver was speeding southbound on St. Francis when they lost control and crashed into the side of a house. St. Francis Drive and St. Joseph Way, Petaluma, California (Google Maps) No one in the house was hurt and damage to the home was minimal, Lyons said. The teen driver was not treated at the scene for injuries but planned to seek their own medical attention with a guardian. "The juvenile will be cited for driving while unlicensed and any other vehicle code violations after the investigation is complete," Lyons said. Police asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call Traffic Officer Dave Hutchinson at 707-778-4372.
