2 Seriously Injured In Head-On Crash

LAKE COUNTY, IL — Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening north of Mundelein. The collision happened at about 6:20 p.m. when a BMW 435i, driven by a 55-year-old Round Lake woman, was headed south on Route 83 south of Winchester Road and crossed the center line. The BMW hit a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 58-year-old man from unincorporated Mundelein, head on. Both drivers were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The driver of the BMW sustained life-threatening injuries and the driver of the Chevrolet sustained serious injures that are not considered life-threatening. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
