Chief: 'Joliet Is a Safer City Today' As Drug-Dealer Arrested

JOLIET, IL — On Wednesday night, Joliet police arrested 32-year-old resident Rondell Rafael McCorkle on 15 criminal charges, including multiple counts of drug dealing and illegally possessing numerous guns. According to a Joliet Police Department news release, the following items were seized from McCorkle's house at 30 South Kentmore Ave: 287 grams of heroin143 grams of cocaine3,774 grams of marijuana1.75 grams of methamphetamineMultiple ecstasy and oxyContin pills.45 caliber handgun previously reported stolen.22 caliber handgun.380 caliber handguntwo 9mm handguns (One modified to a fully automatic weapon)7.69 X 39mm rifleLarge amounts of ammunition and cash "Joliet is a safer city today because of the great work of these dedicated officers," new Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans announced. "The Joliet Police Department will always pursue those who continue to endanger our citizens through the possession of weapons and narcotics." The Will County Jail listed McCorkle as facing seven counts of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of manufacture and delivery of 2,000 to 5,000 grams of marijuana, five counts of possession of drugs with intent to deliver and one count of possession of 15 to 100 grams of meth. Bail for McCorkle was set at $200,000.
