GRAYSLAKE, IL — Grayslake Village Board trustee Adam Shores will step down from his position as village trustee in the coming weeks as his family plans to move out of town. Shores told Mayor Rhett Taylor and the rest of the village board about his decision to step down from his seat, which he has held for the past six years, according to a post on the Grayslake Trustee Adam Shores Facebook page. His family will be moving to Libertyville on April 1. "Serving our community on the village board has been a tremendous honor for me, and I thank you all for the trust you have placed in me over the last six years to help make our town the amazing place we all know and love," he wrote in the Facebook post. "I'm proud of the work we have done, and I thank you for this very special opportunity to serve you." Shores recently announced he'd be running for the Illinois House of Representatives District 62 seat during this year's election. "I'm excited about the next chapter in my life, including my campaign for the Illinois House of Representatives, where I intend to keep working for all of you to make our state a place where families can thrive, where communities can come together, and where we can all prosper," Shores wrote in the Facebook post.
