LAKE FOREST, CA — Residents holding onto old sensitive documents will be able to get rid of them once again as Lake Forest officials announced Thursday the return of the city's shredding program. The free shredding program was halted because of rising COVID-19 cases in Orange County. The shredding program will return to its hours before the pause, city officials said. Residents can drop off their confidential papers for destruction at the City Hall Police Services counter Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One storage box of documents is allowed per week to be shredded, and residents must provide proof of Lake Forest residency, city officials said. Only paper documents with personal information will be accepted. Junk mail and CDs are not allowed. For more information about the program, visit the Lake Forest website.
