Looking for an additional melody instrumentalist

Meets

San Francisco CA

Description

The Caliopians (California music goes global) is looking for an additional melody instrumentalist. Someone to bring greater diversity to the voicing in our ensemble parts, and solos. We are more interested in approach, competency, esthetics, and energy, rather than specific instrumentation, so are open to any woodwind, brass, string, or keys/bellows. It’s the player after all, not what they play on that counts. We primarily play 2 or 3 set gigs in roadhouses and dive bars all over the great Bay Area. The material is a mix of songs and instrumentals written by the band, but being musically illiterate, nothing is written down. I know that learning 50 songs by ear is no small feat, given that the only pay is a future even split of what the band takes in at shows. If you are interested in trying out, check out the video below to see if our vibe has anything to do with you, and what you do. If so, send us a similar video of you playing live in a group, as we have no interest in being your first time at the rodeo. https://youtu.be/iIKfb_Yl-KA sax, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, clarinet, violin, viola, keyboard, piano, accordion, keys
