Description

I'm 49, queer, female, and a mom with a full time job. Let's get that out of the way. I've been playing in bands for 35 years and after a hiatus would like to put something together with other people in SF the same head space and life station. Looking for a zero-drama situation of people who know how to: Play, communicate, show up, listen, give and take, and have fun. Please no egos or dreams of world domination or major label interest. Some local shows, maybe some recording. Looking for people who are confident in their playing and could envision getting enough material together to play a show after a few months. I am a bassist and drummer but also can play a little guitar and keys, and synth knobs etc... Mostly I want to play bass in this thing. I am not looking to be primarily a drummer but happy to play with other drummers who sometimes want to swap instruments. My style is melodic a la Naomi Yang of Galaxie 500 or Doug McCombs or Paul McCartney for that matter, though I am no where near as good as Paul. Some bands I really like in this frame are: Neu!, La Dusseldorf, Harmonia, Camera, Galaxie 500, Stereolab, Electrelane. Here is my soundcloud of various noodles I've accumulated over the years. I wrote and performed all of this material and recorded it in my small home studio. It's not as motorik-y or shoegazey as I'd like to play now, but it gives you an idea of where my head is. Please be vaxxed and boosted (we'll all show cards) and not afraid of masks when they are needed. https://soundcloud.com/bacon-tears-up-business
