Description

Beautiful Anatolian Shepherd Dog 7 month old (approximate, may be a bit younger) Female Up to date on all shots, rabies vaccination, flea meds Spayed Feb 2022 Took a chance on this shy girl (Rescued from Dallas Animal Services) and so far she has been a love to have around. We didn't know if she might be part labrador (given her fawn color and long ears) but she is showing the personality of the breed Anatolian Shepherd as well as looking like the breed standard. She was underweight at the shelter and still has a ways to go with her weight gain. She is slow to warm up but once comfortable is showing to be loyal and trainable, yet independent and very work minded. We haven't had her long enough to know how she will react in other situations than ours, other than she is shy/timid and may have been traumatized or harmed by her first owner/breeders or potentially by being abandoned and/or the experience at the shelter. She takes food from the hand and doesn't appear to have resource guarding at this point. She was spayed and in pain for a couple of days, but as she started feeling better has begun to walk the perimeter of the yard when she goes outside and seems happier when she is out there. We haven't named her yet. We just helped her through her spay recovery and have found she may get bored with just a smaller yard and only cats to guard! Would love for her to find a home where she can do her job. She is still young enough to be trained and might benefit by learning from an older mentor dog if you have one. An urban farm, full farm or ranch might be the best fit. Thank you. If serious inquiry, please call or text eight O five, two three five, O three three six. (If you leave a message, we can call you back.) Not asking any rehoming fee for sincere owners.
