Position: Facilities Maintenance Technician (Part-time) Position Type: Direct Hire (Non-exempt) Location: Mt. Arlington, NJ (onsite) Hours: This is a part-time position for approximately 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30am-12:30pm. Candidates must be available as needed for overtime or weekend work as required. Great part-time opportunity for someone who enjoys being handy and fixing things. A privately owned business is looking for someone to oversee their building facility and maintenance. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in basic electrical and carpentry skills. No certifications required. *Note, this will remain a part-time position! What the Facilities Maintenance Technician does: • Perform periodic inspections of building and property to evaluate functional systems, detect malfunctions and document accordingly for repair • Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches, outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs/tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, appliances, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drains hoses, etc.) • Perform minor surface preparation, painting, carpentry, and masonry work to provide operable and efficient facilities • Assist in performing minor HVAC work (e.g., adjusting thermostats, pneumatic controls, HVAC, filter replacement and electric energy management systems) to maintain a comfortable working environment and proper equipment operation • Perform or oversee scheduled maintenance on facility system(s) and support equipment • Ability to check the functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarms, and building access) • Performs seasonal and project related tasks (e.g., assistance preparing for trade shows and company events) • Coordinate, oversee and facilitate external repair technicians if required • Participate in construction related activities as required, including ordering materials to facilitate repairs • Manage vendors and contracts, including landscaper, snow removal, electrician, plumber, and roofer; assist in the planning and negotiation of such contracts • Order and manage supplies for the facility and stock items necessary for custodial and maintenance activities, including the food & beverage dispensers • Accept deliveries and ensure items reach the appropriate destination (e.g., organized for stock, end user receipt, etc.) • Adjust work assignment/priorities based on information from management and current work assessment • Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external as required • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements • Maintain a building operation manual to include detailed information related to the operations of the facility, including active vendors, contracts, schematics, etc. • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization • Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems What experience we are looking for: • Education or certification in related discipline is preferred, or proven experience in similar position • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for standard business communications • Experience with (at an average level); Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC • Experience with painting and prep work • Experience using hand and power tools • Ability to follow safety procedures • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs • Must have valid driver’s license and car Benefits: • As a part-time position, benefits include: 401(k) and 401(k) Roth, Generous PTO, Paid Holidays, Opportunity for Professional Development & Growth, Exceptional Company Sponsored Events.
