We are a cat-care hotel and spa that focuses on cat boarding, cat grooming, in-home cat sitting, and cat relocation/shipping. We are located in the Sellwood and Montavilla neighborhoods, and we are seeking a full-time facility assistant for our Sellwood location. Additional work providing cat sitting and shuttle service will also be available. Candidates should possess and/or desire to gain experience caring for and working with cats in a kennel, grooming facility, veterinary office, or similar professional environment. Candidates should have experience in customer service and customer management. Candidates with education, training, degrees, certificates, or work experience in kennel management, pet grooming, veterinary office care, or other relevant fields are encouraged to apply. Candidates should present well to a wide demographic. Remember, we are in the hospitality business, and our general guideline is "would Grandma approve?" A Facility Assistant learns to facilitate each component of our service offerings. A Facility Assistant will learn to be a grooming assistant, a kennel attendant, and a service representative. A Facility Assistant: - Learns to be a grooming assistant - Maintains the highest levels of cleanliness and orderliness of the boarding and grooming facilities in a clean, efficient, and professional way. - Performs daily cleaning of cat boarding rooms and facility grounds. - Observes cats for changes in behavior, appetite, hydration levels, and health. Familiarity with the care needs of elderly cats and cats with behavioral conditions such as anxiety and aggression is highly desired. Familiarity with the care needs of cats with physical ailments such as kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroid disease, and aggression is also highly desired. - Maintains and update records of boarding customers, including calendaring, invoicing, and care records. - Operates a point of sales system. - Gives cats food, water, and treats as instructed. - Monitors how much cats are eating and weigh cats. - Give cats medications, injections, and treatments as instructed. - Provide customer service on the phone and in person during check-ins and check-outs of cats in our facility, and during customer meet and greets. - Recognize emergency situations and enlist the aid of professionals. - Follow instructions and work independently with intention. Weekends, summer, and holidays are our busiest times of the year, and therefore you must be able to work during those periods. We are an equal opportunity employer.
