The state was in the midst of its most competitive governor's race in almost 20 years, as Mississippi hasn't had a Democratic governor since 2003.
The winner will succeed the term-limited Republican Gov. Phil Bryant.
The White House has shown strong support for Reeves.
Vice President Mike Pence held a rally Monday at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi for the republican candidate, and President Donald Trump held a rally in the state on Friday.
