This is a conference for every member from every church, as we are all witnesses for Christ, in our neighborhoods and wherever we go.
Announcing the Neighborhoods to Nations Conference, sponsored by 5 associations (Cherokee Strip, Central, Salt Fork, Kay, and Cimarron) plus Oklahoma Baptists, but open to all. It will be Saturday April 2 from 10 to 3 pm at First Baptist Church of Perry.
Our keynote speaker for the general sessions will be the new Oklahoma Baptists Executive Director-Treasurer Dr. Todd Fisher. In addition to Dr. Fisher, the general sessions will feature testimonies by IMB missionaries, Disaster Relief, as well as laypeople from our churches who’ve participated in mission trips. Lunch will be provided.
Before and after lunch, there will be 8 breakout sessions for participants to choose from, with something for everyone:
Opportunities and Next Steps for Service With the IMB (Dr. Joel Sutton)
How to Lead a Short-Term Mission Trip (Jim Westmoreland)
Leading Your Church to be Mission-Minded (Dr. Tom Elliff)
Missions – From Next Door to the Next State (Forgotten Ministries)
Mission Basics (Dr. Elbert Smith)
Developing Missions Education in Your Church (Amy Cordova)
“I Feel Called to Go On a Mission Trip – What Now?” (Panel: Gaylon Cox, Dale Hamm, Matt Smith)
Sharing the Gospel with People in Crisis (Ryan Deatherage)
There will also be displays by missions organizations, including IMB, NAMB, the new Tom Elliff Center for Missions, and others.
