Join us for our second qualifier of the 2022 bouldering season! This will be a modified red point competition for athletes 18 and under. Competition Information All abilities welcome, 18 and under. No USA Climbing members are allowed. If you are unfamiliar with bouldering, or have other questions please reference our season guide or talk to your athletes coach. - Registration will close on 3/23 at midnight. ***Athletes MUST sign up by 3/12 at midnight in order to receive a competitor shirt! - We will host a raffle immediately following the session, and an award ceremony following the raffle! ***You must attend ONE OR MORE of the qualfiying events to be able to attend the championship. The championship will be onsight format, and will have an award ceremony including all-season awards! Competition Format - Bouldering will be in modified redpoint format and competitors will have 6 boulder problems. Competitors will have 8 attempts per boulder. - Climbers will have 2.5 hours to climb the boulders in their category (this 2.5 hour slot includes warm up time, as there will be no additional climbing time prior to the start of each session) and will be self judging, with a physical scorecard. Categories Competitors will be broken up by age and by birth year for placement, and will compete in sessions divided by gender. The age category breakdown is as follows by birth year: - Category 1: Born in 2014 or later (youngest) - Category 2: Born in 2012-2013 - Category 3: Born in 2009-2011 - Category 4: Born in 2006-2008 - Category 5: Born in 2004-2005 (oldest) Schedule Lock-in Participants - Meet at Carrollton at 12pm Competition Check In Opens: 3:15 Climbing Begins: 4:00pm Climbing Ends: 6:30 Free Pizza, Raffle, and award ceremony to follow! Lock-in Participants - Return to Carrollton by 12pm on Sunday Lock-in - There are 30 spots available for our lock-in that will follow the competition! - Lock-in will be lead by the Director of Youth Programs - Transportation will be included - we will be taking the Team Texas vans - Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday will be included - Cost: $50 - includes the lock-in, dinner, and transportation This is for Team Summit members ages 11 and older.
