A class for women to help alleviate the apprehension of the free weight section of the gym.
Class Concept
The concept behind Taking the Intimidation Factor out of the Weight room is to help alleviate the apprehension of the free weight section of the gym. Many women avoid the free weights and stick to machines or cardio out of fear of judgment or lack of knowledge. With the support of the JOATO team and StudioFit Training, class participants will gain confidence in their personal fitness.
Class Description
This class will begin with a discussion on the male and female perspective of the weight room (what are men and women really thinking when they use this area of the gym). Following the discussion, the instructors will review a series of solid exercises each participant can be confident in doing in front of anyone, along with which weights are appropriate for each person. Once everyone is ready to take on the gym, the instructors will lead a one-hour hiit (high intensity interval training) class outside in Baldwin Park.
Concepts covered in this class will include gaining gym confidence, learning a weight routine and proper weight choice, along with a full workout.
Class Structure
The class will begin indoors at StudioFit Training. The hiit portion of the class will take place outdoors.
