Description

Piper was stolen from my yard on the morning of Valentine's Day just after 3am. I was outside with her while she had a potty break, it was very early in the morning so it was very dark. There was a commotion on the back part of my yard, a particularly dark area of the property, my dogs and the neighbors dogs were barking like crazy so I called for my dogs and only one came. I immediately took off on foot to find out what the heck had happened, still assuming she was in the yard just that maybe she was trapped under something or whatever. She was not in the yard. So I walked down towards the golf course clubhouse since that's where she normally goes when she escapes the yard. On my way there, there was a suspicious vehicle that was parked in an odd place in front of the clubhouse on the road with hazards on. They started moving once I was in sight and then stopped, backed up about 5ft, then floored it left down the street that loops around the backside of my house. They briefly parked again once they thought that they were out of sight. But, with it being dark, the tail lights were reflecting off of the windows of the houses on that street, so when I walked passed, I could tell that they were again stopped. I continued down to the clubhouse to call for her and found nothing so I started back home. The same vehicle was then coming off of my street and quickly turned up the next one closer to me (both are cul-de-sacs). They obviously hadn't seen me until they got back down to the stop sign at Pebble Beach. When I was within 5 yards of their car, they changed the position of the vehicle from what was obviously going to be a right hand turn, to a left and SPED off. At this point I hadnt really thought too hard about any of it, while odd, it certainly wasn't raising any alarms in my head. I just assumed that it was the neighborhood patrol and returned home. My roommate was checking the perimeter of the property while I was walking and found that nothing was out of place and there was no possible way that she could've removed herself from the yard. This is important to know since Piper had just been returned to me after being "missing" for 2 months with a shattered pelvis and substantial trauma to both knees. I assume that she was hit by a car or that the woman that has her isn't telling the full story about her injuries, either way, she was pretty crippled, making going over the fence a highly unlikely route of escape. Once there was a little bit of light out, I, too, walked the perimeter and confirmed that everything was secure. During my walk around though, I noticed footprints in the mud that did not match my shoes nor the shoes my roommate was wearing. Further, I also found that my high wire fence that I have lining the privacy fence to prevent the dogs from going through the fence, was crushed down as though it had been stepped on. This is in the same area of the yard where the dogs were barking. Basically, I believe, without a doubt, that someone came into my yard and stole my dog and the vehicle was there to pick them up but had gotten confused seeing me, thinking I was the person they were supposed to be picking up. She couldn't have gotten out by herself and on the off chance that she had, I was already outside so I was calling for her immediately, she always comes when called, unless she was being restrained in some way. If you stole my dog or know who did, give her back or at least let me know where she is and I will go get her myself. I have already filed a police report but we all know they have more important things to do. Please text me with any information you may have relating to the disappearance of my dog. *REWARD* for SAFE return
