Probably male because the cat had a deeper meow, but I'm not 100% sure. Friendly and clean. We fed him some tuna. We left out some water. We also put a blanket in a cardboard box on our porch in case he needed a safe, warm place to sleep. I'm terribly allergic to cats and I didn't want to trap him inside in case his home is nearby.
