Description

Join us for our monthly happy hours and take a load off with the SSL family. We will hear from the founder of Dented Brick Distillery. A few years back a small group of Chamber members, entrepreneurs and business leaders gathered once a month to connect over drinks and conversation after a long week of work. Like usual, two hours turned to three, one drink turned to two and by the end of the conversation, the group would leave with more friends than they started with. Once the pandemic hit, the SSL Chamber and Women in Business Committee decided to turn the monthly gatherings into happy hours open to everyone, with the goal of supporting the local distilleries and breweries residing in the city boundaries. South Salt Lake prides itself on distilleries and breweries that are an integral part of the community. Many of the establishments are home to murals created by local and international artists and fun neighborhood events. Every distillery/brewery owner has an exciting story to tell and are pushing forward positive change in the community. The Happy Hours give you an inside scoop to the fine artistry of beer and fun insight into the growth of the city presented by the SSL Urban Design Director and SSL Arts Director. Join us for our monthly happy hours and take a load off with the SSL family. We will hear from the founder and CEO of Dented Brick Distillery. This is a private event, and registration is required. The tour is free (a $10 value) and if you choose to do a tasting – the first 25 people to arrive will have their spirits purchased by our sponsor 401GO Everyone else can enjoy the Dented Brick spirits for $10 a tasting (2.5 oz)! You will have an opportunity to meet the Creative Industry Zone Artist Spotlight, David Evanoff Sound Designs! Traditional Armenian baklava will be provided by Mosaic Bakery. About Dented Brick Distillery Dented Brick Distillery® is named in honor of the well-driller that was responsible for the artesian well that is located at the distillery — the source of water for our craft spirits. He was killed in a blazing gunfight that left impressions in the bricks of his house. To honor him, some of those "dented bricks" were incorporated into the new distillery building, giving it its name. Thank you to our sponsor 401GO! Less than half of those employed by small businesses have access to a 401(k) or pension. Companies with small budgets who want 401(k) plans have been ignored or even laughed at by 401(k) providers. 401GO was founded to provide working Americans and small businesses greater financial freedom through inexpensive and worry-free work-sponsored retirement plans. Setup takes just minutes (not weeks!), pricing is economical at $9/participant, and we handle all the details. With our innovative automated technology, a simple, affordable, and beneficial 401(k) plan is finally practical for small businesses. David Evanoff has been a professional entertainer for......a lifetime. He's also the owner of David Evanoff Sound Designs, a full-service recording studio that has been in business for just over 30 years. David's entertainment career started when he was 15 years old as a musician at Lagoon Amusement Park. After several years at Lagoon, he was asked by The Utah Jazz to create and direct a band for home Utah Jazz games. The Utah Jazz Band was started in 1983 and played at all home games and events for ten years. The band quickly became as recognizable as the Jazz team itself. Disneyland hired David to be a drummer for the All American College Band, which started a relationship with Disney that continues to this day. In 1990 David opened David Evanoff Sounds Designs, the first Digital recording studio in Utah. Its original location was in the brand new 5 Triad Center. In 2002 he moved his studios to the Counterpoint Studios location, where he operates his business today. You can't turn on the TV or the radio without hearing work by David. He's written thousands of local and national jingles. He's composed music for TV and film, TV news themes, and music for special lives events. He's produced music for The Orange Bowl, Vegas Bowl, and the Liberty Bowl. He's been on the production team for music at Disneyland and Universal Studios. David has recorded music for hundreds of local bands and many national acts, including Alice Cooper, Air Supply, The Osmonds, Jars of Clay, among others. He recently completed the mix for Air Supply's 40th-anniversary album. David was the long-time Music Director for The Salt Lake Acting Company. He directs for other professional companies in Utah, including Plan B Theatre and The Egyptian. He's toured nationally as a drummer, keyboard player, and music director. David has mixed dozens of feature films, documentaries, and TV shows. A 3 time Emmy winner, David is currently the audio post mixer for Random Acts. He was part of the audio team for Touched by an Angel and Promised Land. In 2006 he was hired to record vocals for an unknown TV show called High School Musical. That fortunate event has kept David working on various High School Musical films at TV shows to this day.
