Monkey Business: A Local Arts Gala

A Filmmaker Showcase, Silent Auction, Networking Event, a Live Band, and a Fundraiser for The Monkey Short Film. The Madison Theatre, 518 Film Network, and The Monkey Short Film are partnering to bring you a celebration of the arts community in the Capital District. Local artists cannot thrive without support, and this event is designed to bring together patrons of the arts with varied and exciting opportunities to invest in those creatives. From 7pm to 9pm there will be a silent auction of physical media featuring painters, drawers, and sculptors from all over the region, while various screens in the space showcase a multitude of different works by local filmmakers, both produced and unproduced. The artists will be in attendance while their work is being exhibited, giving you the opportunity to meet and connect with them. At 9pm there will be a keynote speaker who will relay their experience working with local filmmakers to help realize their visions, followed immediately by local Alt-Funk band HANZOLO who will perform until the gala's end at 11. There will be appetizers and a glass of champagne included, and a cash bar available for the duration of the event. Given the turbulent events of the last few years, it's time to reconnect with the people that bring us beauty, emotion, and inspiration. Help us to spotlight this growing collective of artists, and support the creations that make the Capital Region a meaningful community to be a part of.
