Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) - Basic Training. This is the full introductory course for new members. This is the full (20hrs) basic training course for new CERT members. Students must attend every class to graduate. Classes will be held from 5pm -8pm at Saint Luke Church, in San Rafael on the following dates; Tuesday April 26th, 2022; Tuesday May 3rd, 2022; Tuesday May 10th, 2022; Tuesday May 17th, 2022; and Saturday May 21st. Learn how to care for your family and neighbors following a disaster through hands-on training including First Aid, triage, light search & rescue and more. Class content will include : Unit 1: Disaster Preparedness; Unit 2: CERT Organization; Units 3 & 4: Disaster Medical Operations; Unit 5: Disaster Psychology; Unit 6: Fire and Utility Safety; Unit 7: Light Search and Rescue Operations; & Unit 8: Terrorism and CERT. Cost to attend is $50 per student. This will go towards the equipment we will provide you and you will be keeping. No experience necessary. All ages over 16 are welcome.
