Kids ages 2-5 race down Ballard Avenue in pedal cars provided by merchants. $15 entry fee includes a t-shirt and benefits Special Olympics. Kids ages 2-5 will select a pedal car that has been provided and decorated by local merchants and race 500 inches down Ballard Avenue in heats of seven in historic downtown Wylie . Winners will compete and receive trophies in two age brackets (2-3; 4-5). The $15 entry fee includes a T-shirt and participation ribbon. Proceeds benefit area Special Olympics and historic downtown Wylie beautification. Register today to ensure your spot; or race day onsite beginning at 1 pm (cash only). This is a rain or shine event. Schedule: Ages 2-3, Check-in 1 p.m.; Race Start Time 2 p.m. Ages 4-5, Check-in 2 p.m.; Race Start Time 3 p.m. The Wylie 500 Pedal Car Race in historic downtown Wylie is presented by the Wylie Downtown Merchants Association, City of Wylie and Ballard Street Cafe.
