Fearless Femmes celebrates National Women’s Month with a women in business panel moderated by Philadelphia Style Magazine Editor in Chief Antonia Depace and Fearless Restaurants Director of Business Development Sydney Grims. The panel features Denise Mariotti, Chief Human Resource Officer, Penn Medicine, Jessica Kartalija, Evening Anchor CBS Philly, Melissa Ludwig, Former Senior Vice President of Macy’s and Current Chair of National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Philadelphia Chapter (Chair) and The Forum of Executive Women, Women’s Leadership Committee (Chair), Beth Thompson Grealy, Senior Supervisor Producer for the Dr. Phil Show, Oluwadamilola "Lola" Fayanju, MD, MA, MPHS, FACS, Chief of Breast Surgery at Penn, and Feminista Jones, feminist writer, public speaker, community activist and retired social worker. Connect and build connections with women who amplify and lead in their industry. This event offers a transformative atmosphere for women to bond through sharing their personal and business stories. Women's History Month is a celebration of women's contributions to history, culture, and society and has been observed annually in March in the United States since 1987. DENISE MARIOTTI, Chief Human Resources Officer Denise J. Mariotti is the Chief Human Resources Officer at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania since 2013. She is responsible for the Human Resources functions for 14,000 employees. She has worked in a variety of human resources leadership roles at Penn Medicine including Chief Human Resources Officer, Pennsylvania Hospital, Chief Human Resources Officer, Penn Home Health and Performance Consultant, Penn Organizational Design. Ms. Mariotti has been awarded with numerous certificates and honors including the Governor’s Achievement Award for Outstanding Performance in Job Training and Placement. She is an active committee member of several organizations including the Forum of Executive Women where she served as vice chair of the membership committee and the Philadelphia Chapter of Women Against Multiple Sclerosis. She is also a current Board member of Manna and Hall-Mercer Community Behavioral Health. Denise is a frequent guest speaker for a variety of human resources and health care related topics at local and national conferences, including NHPCO (National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization) and SHRM (Society for Human Resources Management) and the American Hospital Association (AHA) Leadership Conference. She has published several articles on a variety of health care leadership topics and is a recurring guest on Sirius XM Wharton Business Radio. JESSICA KARTALIJA, Evening Anchor CBS Philly Jessica Kartalija is the evening news anchor at CBS Philadelphia. In addition to anchoring the 5, 6 & 11pm newscasts, she also hosts a weekly segment that highlights celebrities and newsmakers with a tie to our region. She graduated from Penn State, and got her Masters at Johns Hopkins. She lives with her husband and son in Radnor, Pa. MELISSA LUDWIG, Former Senior VP of Macy's Melissa Ludwig is an insightful, strategic Board Director with the successful sale of CSS IndustrieS, a consumer products company (NYSE:CSS), Board Chair of NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) Philadelphia. A nimble problem solver with an accomplished, longstanding business leadership career at Macy’s having direct P&L accountability, leading businesses from $380M to $600M and high-performing, multidisciplinary organizations ranging in size from 1,300 to 3,000. Melissa brings deep expertise in strategic planning, expense initiatives, BTC, risk management, and has a record of building new capabilities, positioning businesses for responsible growth and sustained success while achieving the optimal customer experience. BETH THOMPSON GREALY, Senior Supervisor Producer for the Dr. Phil Show Beth Thompson Grealy is an Emmy Nominated, Senior Supervising Producer for the Dr. Phil television show. Based in Los Angeles, CA for 14 years, Beth recently relocated to Philadelphia, PA, and now works remotely. Beth joined Dr. Phil in 2007 as a Sr. Associate Producer, and over 13 seasons was promoted to Producer, Sr. Producer, Supervisor, and for the past 5 seasons, Sr. Supervisor. She is a member of the Writers Guild of America and has been nominated for two Emmys. Beth currently supervises the booking department at Dr. Phil where she writes, pitches, and coordinates approval steps necessary to secure guests for the show. OLUWADAMILOLA "LOLA" FAYANJU, MD, MA, MPHS, FACS, Endocrine and Oncologic Surgery Chief of Breast Surgery at Penn FEMINISTA JONES, feminist writer, public speaker, community activist and retired social worker. Feminista Jones is a Philadelphia-based feminist writer, public speaker, community activist and retired social worker. She is an award-winning writer and the author of the critically acclaimed Reclaiming Our Space: How Black Feminists Are Changing the World From the Tweets to the Streets (Beacon). Her work centers around feminism, queer identity, critical race theory, intersectionality, mental health and social work. She currently teaches at Temple University where she is obtaining her PhD.
