The Round Rock Public Library welcomes Texas Bluebonnet Award nominee author Donna Janell Bowman. The Round Rock Public Library welcomes Texas Bluebonnet Award nominee author Donna Janell Bowman for the library’s Three Books – One Community Program. Preregister to join us on Monday, April 18, 2022, at 4:30 pm in Meeting Room C. Using Step Right Up: How Doc and Jim Key Taught the World About Kindness as the focal point, students will learn about how one person can make a profound difference—often with simple acts of kindness. At the conclusion of the presentation, students will take the Step Right Up Kindness Pledge. Preregistration is required. A copy of Step Right Up: How Doc and Jim Key Taught the World About Kindness will be provided to registered families. Donna Janell Bowman is a central Texas speaker and writing coach, and the author of award-winning books for young readers, including Step Right Up: How Doc and Jim Key Taught the World About Kindness, illustrated by Daniel Minter; Abraham Lincoln’s Dueling Words, illustrated by S.D. Schindler; King of the Tightrope: When The Great Blondin Ruled Niagara, illustrated by Adam Gustavson; and the forthcoming Wings of an Eagle: The Gold Medal Dreams of Billy Mills, co-authored with Billy Mills and illustrated by S.D. Nelson. Donna has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
