Hillsborough County invites you to participate in a workshop and open house - to create a vision for the future of Veterans Memorial Park.
Overview: Hillsborough County Veterans Memorial Park, with the Veterans Resource Center and Rear Admiral Leroy Collins Jr. Veterans Museum, provides a centralized location to memorialize and honor the Veterans of all eras. It has a reputation as a well-designed location for reading, reflection, meditation, picnicking, gathering, and exercising along the Bypass Canal. The Park, including 14 war memorials, serves as a venue for regional ceremonies and events.
The Park’s Master Plan is being crafted through a ‘participatory design process’ with engagement and outreach to generate consensus and a vision for the Veterans Memorial Park. The workshop will explore options and feasibility to inform the long-term life of the Park, including programs and services.
Participation: The County is looking for community feedback to answer:
• How is the park currently used?
• How would the community like to use the park in the future?
• How can the park reach its full potential?
