WAYLAND, MA — There's just a few weeks left for Wayland residents to file to run for office in 2022 for seats on the Board of Selectmen, School Committee and eight other boards and commissions. There are already a few competitive races in Wayland ahead of the March 22 filing deadline for the April 14 election. Board of Selectmen Chair Thomas Fay is up for reelection in 2022, and has attracted two challengers: Human Rights, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee member Dovie King and Board of Public Works member Clifford Lewis. School Committee member Kimberly Reichelt, meanwhile, is facing a challenge from Craig Gurber. There's also a race shaping up for two Board of Health seats (one seat is a partial term) with three people signed up to run. As of this week, 14 Wayland residents have pulled papers to run for office in 2022, and five of those candidates have been certified by the Town Clerk.
