Here are the top five stories in New York City today: A man attacked seven Asian women in the span of two hours in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday night, according to police reports. The incidents occurred in the East Village, Gramercy Park, Midtown, and NoLita. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning. (New York City Patch) NYC's COVID-19 contact tracing program will be coming to a close in April, according to an email sent out to employees of the program this week, giving them eight more weeks to finish any remaining work. First implemented in June 2o2o, the program reached over one million New Yorkers. (New York City Patch) David Banks, the new public school chancellor, pledged to fix the 'dysfunctional' school system, by providing students with post-graduation job opportunities, encouraging civic engagement, more field trips, and healthier lunch options. Banks also blamed 'bureaucracy' for a technical glitch at the start of his address. (New York City Patch)Governor Kathy Hochul promised on Wednesday that to-go cocktails will be coming back to New York 'very soon,' adding it was the 'most popular' item in her state budget proposal. Hochul is allocating an additional $2 million to the state liquor authority to deal with a backlog of liquor licenses. (New York City Patch)In his State of The Union address Tuesday night President Biden paid tribute to fallen NYPD officers Wilbert Mora, 27, and Jason Rivera, 22, who were shot dead earlier this year. He called to "fund" police departments across the country–not to "defund." Mayor Eric Adams praised Biden's remarks, but other New Yorkers on Twitted were more skeptical.
