WATERFORD, CT — Marc Balestracci, currently serving as interim chief, will be Waterford's next chief of police, according to a police Facebook post. The Board of Police Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint Balestracci to the position. Lieutenant Balestracci was named interim chief when former Chief Brett Mahoney retired Oct. 29. The official ceremony will take place in the near future.
